Oops, Kim Jong-Un Quiz
Every Friday, our European history teacher gives out special quizzes. He divides our class up into three teams and passes out these questionnaire papers which we have to answer as a group.
If you win the quiz, your team gets bonus points on your grade, so everyone gets very into the game. Whenever someone gets the answer, they huddle up and shush each other so that the other teams won¡¯t find out.
The questions that we are most knowledgeable at are those regarding to celebrity gossip. For example, when we are lucky we might be asked, ¡°What reality couple just broke up?¡± or ¡°Who is on the #1 spot according to the Billboard chart?¡±
Whenever we get these questions, we can¡¯t help but become excited. However, Last Friday turned out to be very unfortunate. Instead of seeing celebrity-related questions, we could only spot questions related to politics or sports.
To our dismay, we were only able to answer 5 out of 10 questions. When we were about to give up, my group started to call my name in enthusiasm. Curious, I went to the table and they asked me if I knew the answer pointing to a question on the paper.
I looked at it more closely, and found out that the question was asking about the name of the son who was recently introduced to the public of Kim Jong-Il, the North Korean dictator. I was filled with joy since I knew the answer to the question was ¡°Kim Jong-Un¡±, and quickly wrote down the answer.
Although our team did not win that day, I was fascinated to find out that American schools had interest in North Korea and their affairs. It also surprised me that I would actually encounter events relating to North Korea in my own school.
