ASSEMBLY SPEAKER HEASTIE AND ASSEMBLYMAN KIM ANNOUNCE HISTORIC ASIAN AMERICANS CAUCUS
Flushing, New York – This Thursday, Assemblymembers Ron Kim and Yuh-Line Niou will join Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie in announcing the formation of a new, historic caucus in the State Legislature. The Asian Pacific American Legislative Caucus (APALC) will be the first state government body dedicated solely to researching and advocating for issues, policies, and laws that impact New York¡¯s Asian American community.
They will also be joined by several colleagues in the Assembly, who will join the Caucus, and prominent community organizations from across the city and state. It will be an occasion for the attendees to not only celebrate the historic achievement, but also speak on their future plans and goals for the Caucus.
