일본정부가 소녀상 철거에 나섰습니다

 

3월 7일 글렌데일 소녀상으로 와 주세요!

 

일본 정부의 역사 부정이 언제까지 계속될지 알 수 없습니다. 그러나 한가지만은 분명합니다.

 

우리가 침묵(沈黙)하는 그날, 일본이 주장하는 왜곡(歪曲)된 역사는 사실이 되고, 끔찍한 기억을 용기있는 증언으로 극복한 할머니들은 자발적 매춘부가 되고 맙니다.

 

일본정부는 미 연방 대법원에 "글렌데일에 있는 소녀상을 철거해 달라"는 취지의 의견서를 냈습니다. 여전히 일본군 성노예 문제를 "한.일간의 외교문제"로 축소(縮小), 폄하(貶下)하면서 14년간 10여개국 여성 수십만명에 대해 자행되었던 국가주도의 성노예 범죄를 은폐, 부정하고 있습니다.

 

이에, 피해국 커뮤니티인 한국계, 중국계, 일본계 및 모든 지지자들은 글렌데일 소녀상 앞에 모여 일본정부의 뻔뻔한 역사왜곡 및 여론조작 시도를 규탄하고, 소녀상을 지키기 위해 전력을 다하고 있는 글렌데일 시를 격려하고자 합니다.

Come and support Glendale Peace Monument!! March 7, 2017 at 11am

 

Japanese government filed an amicus brief in the US Supreme Court for the Glendale lawsuit to remove the 'Comfort Women' Statue, in support of the plaintiffs who have been defeated at the District Court and the 9th Circuit Court.

 

This is an assault on the US local government and the citizens' freedom of speech on important international human rights issues, as well as on the victims of Japanese military sexual slavery whose breaking of the silence shook the world to declare rape during wartime is a crime against humanity.

 

Please come and voice your support for the City of Glendale that is fighting hard to keep the Peace Monument in its Central Park that honors hundreds of thousands of victims of Japanese military sexual slavery from more than a dozen different countries. Please let me know if you'd like to speak.
