make me an instrument of your peace:

where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

where there is sadness, joy.

Dear Friend--an update and our prayers for #KoreaPeaceTalks #KoreaPeace.

North Korean leader Kim Jung-un will take a grueling 60-hour journey via train to Hanoi, Vietnam.

We wish US-DPRK diplomatic teams a safe and productive journey: joy!!

What will happen in the Kim - Trump summit in Hanoi?

My prediction: A New World Order in Northeast Asia: Courage and Hope!

1. A step-by-step process towards the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula

2. Third Kim-Trump summit

3. An end of war declaration

4. Plans for creating a liaison office ("Interest Section" in Pyongyang as a form of US diplomatic representation)

5. Plans for resuming Mt. Kumgang tourism, the Kaesong Industrial Complex, Inter-Korean railway

6. Strong support for the acceleration of inter-Korean cooperation after the Kim-Trump 2nd summit

Friend--this is not about Trump or Kim Jon Un but about us and our children¡¯s future--our commitment! Let us take ownership of this peace process.

Here are some of the voices--our good American friends working for #KoreaPeace--that I am hearing (I added my own voice too:)), which you won¡¯t read in mainstream media.

Tim Shorrock. Why Are Democrats Trying to Torpedo the Korea Peace Talks? The Nation

¡°Reconciliation and peace between North and South Korea is a gravely historic matter that should be for the Korean people to decide. It cannot be allowed to be reduced to a bargaining chip in the struggle for one-upmanship between Republicans and Democrats.¡± Simone Chun

¡°We are urging Democratic leadership to see the peace process for what it isa Korean-led effort to end a 70-year-old war...Changing from the view that the current situation is a nuclear standoff to the view that this situation is the result of an un-ended war is essential to understanding what types of reciprocal actions are pragmatic and necessary, as well as why diplomacy is needed in the first place.¡± Daniel Jasper, the public-education-and-advocacy coordinator for Asia of the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC)

¡°Moon¡¯s persistent leadership toward reconciliation and diplomacy with North Korea represents the fervent desire of the Korean and Korean-American people for peace. Members of Congress from both parties should understand that and support it, skepticism about Trump and Kim notwithstanding.¡± Kevin Martin, president of Peace Action and national coordinator of the Korea Peace Network.

¡°It¡¯s long past the time to end 70 years of stalemated war and division suffered by all Koreans. I join others (#Endthekoreanwar, #Koreapeacenow) to urge the leaders of the U.S. and D.P.R.K. to commit to meaningful and concrete steps to end all hostilities at their second summit meeting next week. Foremost, genuine peace is essential to resolving all outstanding differences including the threat of a nuclearized Korean peninsula. It¡¯s time to End the Korean War! Peace Treaty Now!¡± -- Professor Ramsay Liem, MA via facebook

¡°I signed a timely petition on Action Network telling The United States Congress and President to Finally Allow Ending the Korean War. The primary impediment to peace in Korea is located thousands of miles from Korea in Washington, D.C. This petition demands that we get out of the way. Can you join me and take action? Click here.¡± https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/tell-the-us-congress-and-president-to-support-finally-ending-the-korean-war?source=email&

¡°This joint statement from more than 40 pro-diplomacy groups, released earlier today, provides a strong set of principles and some ideas for messaging ahead of the Hanoi Summit.¡± --Daryl Kimball, Arms Control Association

Statement of Pro-Diplomacy Groups Regarding U.S. Policy Toward North Korea

The United States has a rare opportunity to advance the twin goals of denuclearization and a lasting peace regime on the Korean Peninsula, commitments that the two nations made during their unprecedented Summit in Singapore in June 2018.
